Episode 18: Finale

Four months ago, 24 residents of NC State's Quad started the adventure of a lifetime. Separated into three tribes, their goal was to outwit, outplay, and outlast all of the others to become the remaining sole Survivor. Near the end of their journey, only four players were left: Hannah, AZ, Michelle, and Weston.

At the final four Immunity Challenge, the Survivors were faced with completing tasks from previous challenges, including volleyball, a word scramble, and a number puzzle. Michelle gained a huge lead when she was the first person to complete her word scramble, but lost it when she couldn't think of the names of previously voted out contestants. In a last minute effort, Hannah finished her number puzzle and won Immunity.

Faced with the prospect of voting out one of their own, the Sec Bec alliance seemed to have their minds made up on AZ. However, Michelle still had the power to force a tie and try to break up Hannah and Weston, a known couple. In the end, she stuck with the plan and AZ was voted out 3-1.

At the final Immunity Challenge, the Survivors had to wedge quarters in between their fingers while holding an uncomfortable pose. Weston faced difficulty from the get-go when he couldn't keep his arms up, and eventually he shuffled his feet and was eliminated. Michelle eventually began to feel pain and had trouble keeping her pose and eventually fell over, losing to Hannah, who never once showed signs of faltering.

Faced with a difficult decision, Hannah had to choose to vote out either her boyfriend Weston, or her close friend Michelle. In the end, she decided to vote based on strategy, and got rid of Weston, who she felt would be a bigger threat in the finals.

At the final Tribal Council, the Survivors were able to address the jury and plead their case as to why they should win. Hannah talked to each jury member individually about how the game had impacted their relationship. Michelle kept her speech short and mentioned the drive and determination she had in all of the challenges. It was then time for the jury to speak to the Survivors. Most jury members kept their comments lighthearted, however, when Josh was given the chance to speak, he took the opportunity to bash his fellow jury members, the contestants, and even the host.

The jury then voted for a winner, and in a 6-3 victory, Michelle Phillips become the first ever winner of Survivor: The Quad.

Episode 17: The Not-So-Wild Card

Previously on Survivor:

Sean, the last remaining member of the Underdog alliance, was running out of options. With no one else on his side, he faced the tight-knit group of Hannah, Weston, Michelle, and AZ alone. Furthermore, the last Hidden Immunity Idol was in AZ's possession. His only hope was to win the next Immunity challenge and force the group to turn on each other.

At the Reward Challenge, the Survivors played for an advantage at the next Immunity Challenge as well as a now-useless Hidden Immunity Idol clue. The players were asked trivia questions about the Quad, as well as questions about past events in the game. AZ showcased his knowledge of QAC and IRC, and his acute memory, all of which helped cement his first individual win.

At the Immunity Challenge, the players had 30 minutes to build a house of cards as high was possible. AZ's advantage also gave him an additional 5 minutes after the others were done. Hannah's strategy was to use as few cards as possible, but this caused her tower to be unstable, as it was constantly falling over. The rest of the Survivors didn't have much better luck, but with only minutes remaining, Michelle and Weston were in the lead. Sean made a last-ditch effort by stacking cards in one pile and then building from the top, but this strategy ultimately didn't work. With Michelle's tower the highest at the 30 minute mark, AZ had just 5 minutes to beat her. Unfortunately he couldn't surpass her, and Michelle won Immunity.

At Tribal Council, Sean knew his time was up. Before the votes were read, AZ played his Hidden Immunity Idol, nullifying Sean's vote against him. Sean received the other votes and became the seventh member of the jury. 4 are left. Who will be voted out next?

Episode 16: The Game Heats Up

Previously on Survivor:

Despite the odds against them, Josh and Sean were in the final six and that much closer to winning the money. However, they had the Sec Bec alliance of Hannah, Weston, Michelle, and AZ working against them, and the ties between those four seemed too strong to break.

At the Reward Challenge, Survivors answered questions about themselves which their loved ones then had to match. For each correct answer, they earned a throw of a frisbee at a designated target to try and get as close as possible. Josh and his loved one Laura answered the most questions correctly, but Josh ended up not even needing his last throw and won reward. He earned a Hidden Immunity Idol Clue, the right to know the name of the next challenge, and the right to bring his loved one to play in the challenge.

At the Immunity Challenge, the Survivors played a series of blackjack hands against a dealer, and every time they lost, they had to eat spicy chicken nuggets. Michelle ended up eating several but she persevered anyway. Sean on the other hand had incredible luck and ended up in a tiebreaker with Michelle. In the end, Sean's luck stayed with him and he won Immunity once again.

At Tribal Council, everyone but Josh expressed that they didn't think they'd make it to the finals. Hannah said she didn't want to face the jury alongside Weston because he'd be more likely to get votes. Sean mentioned that he would have to go on an Immunity streak to win, so the finals were the last thing on his mind. His tone indicated that he and Josh were still on the outs, and the vote only confirmed this as Josh was voted out of the tribe. Afterward, the Survivors were told only two players would be facing the jury. 5 are left. Who will be voted out next?

Episode 15: I Wanna Be a Part of That Panel

Previously on Survivor:

With Salma voted out, things continued to look bleak for the Underdog alliance. The Sec Becers, meanwhile, were dealing with their own problems, with Sarah expressing that she was almost done with the game.

At the Immunity Challenge, the Survivors played on a 10x10 grid, aiming to block opponents in while keeping their own paths open. Although the members of the Sec Bec alliance still in the game near the end tried to work together to beat Josh, Sarah's refusal to block herself in eliminated both her and AZ, leading to Josh's win.

At Tribal Council, Josh's Immunity left Sean and Michelle O vulnerable. Sean and Hannah both played their advantage they won at a previous reward, the ability to subtract one vote from their vote total. But in the end Michelle O was targeted and she was voted out of the game. After the vote, the Survivors were surprised with the announcement that they would be participating in another Immunity Challenge at that very moment.

For this challenge, the players had to run around different areas of NC State's campus and count objects or find numbers to fill in an answer sheet and subsequently solve a logic puzzle. Hannah, Sarah, and AZ decided to work together to try to keep either Josh or Sean from winning. However, Sean, working on his own, found all the numbers he needed, and while he started third on the logic puzzle, he ended up winning Immunity.

At Tribal Council, it seemed Josh was the obvious boot with Sean immune, but Sarah once again expressed desire to exit the game. However, since quitting could lose her a spot on the jury, she asked her fellow players to vote her out. Although Josh still received two votes, the tribe respected Sarah's wishes, and she was voted out. 6 are left. Who will be voted out next?

Episode 14: They Want You Naked and Winning

Previously on Survivor:

Although the Underdog alliance of Josh, Michelle O, Salma, and Sean successfully blindsided Ben, they were still at a 5-4 numbers disadvantage. Salma, who had been in hot water since the merge, once again needed a miracle in order to save herself in the game.

At the Reward Challenge, the Survivors were tested on how well they knew their fellow tribe members. After answering survey questions about each other, they had to guess which tribe member's name was said most often. Hannah got the most votes for "Who won't shut up?" while Michelle O was labeled as a backstabber and in need of therapy. The group also decided they most wanted to see AZ pose nude. In the end, the challenge came down to Josh and Sean, but Josh's ability to read his tribemates helped him achieve his first individual win. He was given a Hidden Immunity Idol clue and the ability to give someone a disadvantage at the next Immunity challenge.

At the Immunity Challenge, the players were read an urban legend related to Bagwell Hall. They were then required to run around to different stations answering questions about the story. Josh gave Weston the disadvantage: a thirty second time penalty. The disadvantage made all the difference, as the challenge came down to mere seconds. Michelle P ended up victorious, making her safe from the vote.

At Tribal Council, Salma seemed accepting of her fate. Sarah expressed that she was feeling time constraints from being a part of the game. With Salma no longer immune, she was targeted and received five votes, enough to make her the sixteenth casualty of the game and the third member of the jury. 8 are left. Who will be voted out next?

Episode 13: M. Night Shyamalan's The Twist

Previously on Survivor:

Facing a 7-3 disadvantage, Salma, Josh, and Sean were all on the chopping block. Salma in particular felt targeted and thought she would be the next to go unless something changed.

The Reward Challenge came in the form of a cryptic message, telling each of the Survivors to assign the words outwit, outplay, and outlast to one other player. They were then told the significance of their answers would be revealed later.

At the Immunity Challenge, all of the Survivors were read a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol. It was also revealed that whoever won the challenge would give an additional Immunity necklace to someone who assigned outplay to them. They were then told this challenge would be played in rounds. For the first several rounds, the Survivors had to retrieve sports balls and frisbees on the other side of the Quad, and whoever didn't get one would be eliminated in a musical chairs-style game. During this portion of the challenge, the girls began playing rough and wrestling each other to stay in the game. Salma was the last girl standing, but couldn't keep up with the guys. In the end, Sean, Weston, Ben, and AZ moved on to the final round. Here they had an answer board with several questions. They then had to retrieve the answers from a bin and bring them back one at a time. Before this round could start, Sean, who hadn't been feeling well, got dizzy and could not compete. In the end, after several wrong guesses, Weston beat AZ out by only seconds. He then chose Hannah to receive the second Immunity necklace.

After the challenge, the outwit and outlast portions of the Reward Challenge were explained. The highest votes for both categories would receive a reward. Hannah and Sean tied for outlast and each received a secret clue and advantage to help them outlast in the game. The outwit reward was a Hidden Immunity Idol good for the next Tribal Council only. This went to Salma, giving her yet another Idol to use.

At Tribal Council, the Sec Bec alliance decided to split the vote between Salma and Josh in order to ensure one of them went home regardless of who played the Hidden Immunity Idol.  Salma played her Idol for Josh, protecting him from the vote. However, someone in the Sec Bec alliance switched their vote, and Ben was blindsided. 9 are left. Who will be voted out next?

Episode 12: This Game Isn't Over for Any of You

Previously on Survivor:

Although they had dodged a bullet at the last Tribal Council, the minority alliance were still at a 6-5 disadvantage and were looking for one more vote to gain the majority.

At the Reward Challenge, the Survivors were given a 90s pop song and had 30 minutes to come up with a dance routine. Some players embraced the theme of the challenge, like Michelle P who danced in full Britney Spears garb. Others were less than happy to compete, and Hannah and Weston refused to dance. Although Josh went all out in a Spice Girls-themed routine, and Sarah had previous dance experience, Bassil's use of costuming and lighting won him reward. He was given a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol and an advantage at the next Immunity Challenge.

At the Immunity Challenge, the Survivors' ability to memorize sequences were tested. Bassil's advantage allowed him to skip one of the sequences, and while it helped him out, he couldn't outlast either Salma or Michelle P. In the end, Salma won out, earning a much-needed Immunity, making her safe from the vote.

At Tribal Council, Bassil called out the Sec-Bec alliance, but many of them including Hannah claimed they were not voting together. Salma made it clear that if someone from the Sec-Bec group didn't leave tonight, the game was over for her, Bassil, Josh, Sean, and Michelle O. When the votes were tallied, Bassil received enough to send him home and make him the first member of the jury. Salma then left, saying that the game was over. 10 are left. Who will be voted out next?
